Finding Calm

In this life we have so much going on all the time. So much to do, so much to accomplish, so much to experience. We must not forget that we need to maintain balance in order for maintain our health.

Everything in life has a rhythm…

beach

Some rhythms are stress inducing and some are relaxing. I choose today to focus on the relaxing rhythms like that of the ocean. The ocean is a powerful force. And yet is is also a very calming force. You need not worry that the surf will cease, or miss a rotation. It is ever present. The sound is very calming. Empty your mind and focus on the surf as you view this short video clip:

What brings you relief from stress?

beach3

Is it the aroma of a scent? or maybe a diversion? I work with many people who struggle at times releasing stress. Find the underlying emotion that is causing the stress and the stress will be easy to release.

We are meant to be wise in caring for our own individual bodies.

Mr Smith

You must find what is best for you personally. The only way to truly discover what is best for you is for you to try all methods that come to you. You are constantly bringing to you what your body needs. You are responsible for maintaining your health. A good choice is taking a break ever so often. Personally I really feel recharged when I can get away and force myself to do something different. I spent most of September doing just that. Here is a shot of Mr. Smith enjoying the grounds of our hotel in Hawaii…

So whatever it is, exercise, fun times with friends or even a vacation, schedule in breaks in your normal routine. It’s better for your health!

Building Back Good Health!

Everyone’s talking about getting healthy!

sweet success

Everywhere you look there are advertisements for remedies for whatever ails you! Good health is quite the market! As an energy practitioner, I lean more towards natural methods. I understand the vibration that everything on this earth has. We want to maintain a high vibration for optimal health. A few comparisons…

Fast food = low vibration; Raw organic vegetables and fruits = a much higher vibration so they would be a better choice rather than fast food. Over the counter cold medications = a low vibration because there is nothing really ‘living’ in the product – most is synthetically processed in a lab. Essential oils = a much higher vibration because they are extracted from a living plant, and either cold processed or steam processed without chemicals. Exercise = a very high vibration as opposed to playing video games or watching TV.

There are natural choices to improve health

what are essential oilsI have been using essential oils for nearly 3 years now. I rarely feel under the weather. I rarely get sick. I can’t recall the last time I was sick! I thought it was only because as an energy practitioner I can plug the high vibration of anything into my energy system to prevent illness. However, recently I was speaking to some friends who also had been using essential oils for a few years. They reported the same findings. They could not recall the last time they were ill with a cold or flu. I take vitamin supplements that contain essential oils to support a good foundation of health, and I use the essential oils for support when needed. I also eliminate chemical fragrances and products where ever possible in my home environment. All of these measures contribute to an excellent quality of life.

I highly recommend these practices to you

Not because someone else told me about these practices and I’m passing them on to you, but because I have personal and family experience. I would be happy to talk to you if you are interested in improving your health utilizing energy work or  Essential Oils. Please contact me and allow me the opportunity to teach you how to best obtain these products.

First day of 4th grade!

Memories!

I still recall my first day of 4th grade. My mom got me out of bed super early and had me take a bath and she made a formal dinner. She had recently gotten out of the hospital and was determined to fix a proper breakfast for her family every day… I’m kind of grateful that only happened a few days. My teacher, Mrs. Reed, commented towards the end of the school year how silly my hair looked on the first day of school. She was such a fun teacher! I was scared of her at first, but she was really down to earth and I learned a lot from her.

Gavin & Alex’s First Day Back to School!

we're cool

Here we are… and Grandma said I couldn’t wear my hat

studious

Yes, I know my brother loves me!

My grandsons have such delightful senses of humor. Their personalities are delightful. We discussed at length how important it is to make a good first impression today… and yes, they both wore the Focus Blend today.

brotherly love

Yes… he really loves me… I get it.

We had fun taking a few pictures! These pictures tell a story!

funny brother

He makes me smile with his faces. He enjoys being a clown… oh oh!

It has been such an interesting experience to witness the relationship between them over the years…

They support each other and they vie for dominance. It’s an interesting dance they participate in. We’re grateful that so far they are friends!

Al's face

OK… this is the face Alex does that Gavin appreciates.

grrrr

Grandma said I could wear my hat!

And now, Gavin says,  “I get to wear my hat!” and Alex approves.

So after some time…

bored now

Can we go to school now?

Boredom sets in… and of course no 9 year old boy wants to be bored.

May your family be safe, happy, healthy and grateful as a new school year begins!

Meet Alex

That’s a hungry man!

AlexThis is Alex… one of my 6 handsome grandsons. He has entered that age when food is the only thing that is truly important. That age when getting filled up is a myth. He is beginning to be constantly hungry. When I am working with a client he comes and motions to me pointing at his mouth, or miming he is eating something out of his hand… thankfully he hasn’t begun EATING his hand! In this shot, you’ll notice he is the only one at the table. That is because we all finished. He is continuing to eat. He ate more than his brother did, more than I did, and even more than my husband did. And by the way, that veggie burger has tomato slices, and pickled jalapeno slices – yep, he has very good taste! We put my homemade sauerkraut on both mine and my husband’s veggie burgers… Alex liked it, but just likes tomatoes and jalapenos on his burger.

I recall this time in a boy’s life well… it seemed that from age 10 to when my son left home he was constantly eating. One day he managed to find some forgotten pineapple chunks in the frig that had begun growing. I was mortified that he ate them… ALL!!! I was grateful he didn’t get ill from it.

I love that Alex enjoys eating good healthy foods… When he was 2 1/2 he would wake up from his nap early, so I would bring him into the kitchen to be my taster while his brother finished his nap. Alex loves my healthy creations. Here’s a link to some of his (and my) favorite recipes.

It’s bitter sweet…

Of course, I know only too well that when a boy becomes an eating machine, he also grows rapidly. Kind of remind me of that childhood book, “A Fish Out of Water”. I enjoy the boy, and know the time of his youth is so short… I’m grateful to have this time with him, and this opportunity to record this moment and my thoughts. Some day he will be showing this to his kids. By then this time in our lives will be just a warm memory…

What memories are you making?

DSC_0004Creating positive memories are vitally important. But sometimes we get so busy with life that we forget to stop and take time. It doesn’t need to be a huge production. Just sharing time together and expressing love! When you embrace energy healing, blocks can be removed allowing your life to flow easier and you may find it easier to create these times together with your loved ones.

Soured Foods – A Blessing to the Gut!

Good Health Begins in the Gut!

I have wanted to learn to make homemade sauerkraut for years. My husband loves the stuff! When we eat soured foods or cultured foods it’s beneficial to maintaining the proper balance of intestinal flora in our systems. This balance is paramount to maintaining good health.

This morning I came across a wonderfully easy recipe for sauerkraut and one for kimchi. Thank you to Sonnet and her wonderful blog!

Here’s the sauerkraut recipe how-to-make-sauerkraut

I just love the illustrations and how easy the recipe is! I can do this!!! and we can stop purchasing the expensive raw sauerkraut at the health food store!

Here’s the kimchi recipe  How+to+make+kimchi

I’m truly looking forward to making each of these! Please let me know when YOU make these! I would love to share our success together! And remember, NO ONE cares about your good health as much as YOU do! So try a new approach… you’ll be grateful you did!
