A Wonderful Meal to Remember!

We were blessed to enjoy a fabulous Raw Vegan FEAST with our dear friend Chef Alexandre Derene, Private Chef and his lovely wife Sissi. Though many aspects of the meal had to be prepared before hand, we LOVED getting to watch the chef make the salad, gazpacho and RAW VEGAN Chocolate Mousse!

The Salad!

Normally for me, this is the highlight of the meal… I LOVE salad!!! and though it was indeed amazing, there was more in store for us

Creamy gazpacho topped with avocado… AMAZING! Please don’t ask me for the recipes – but the gazpacho had heirloom tomatoes and hot house cucumbers among other organic ingredients, made simply in the Vita Mix! 

 

 

 

 

It’s hard to see in most of the pictures, but everything the chef did, he did so smiling! They Alex in actionJPGsay never eat the food of an angry chef… and never make the chef angry, but with Chef Alexandre, the joy was amazing! He loves making everyone happy and STUFFED!

 

 

 

DRUM ROLL PLEASE… the Main Dish!

The main dish was a raw vegan Polenta with Mushroom Gravy. This was the most tantalizing meal I’ve ever had the privilege to enjoy! All the flavors garnish the main dishdanced in my mouth! I ate until I was afraid I couldn’t eat another bite, and then…

I may have been a little off the charts as I “encouraged” the chef to put together a recipe book. I would love for all to enjoy his energy and his food! In my home we have experienced the benefits of eating mostly fresh, raw vegetables and fruit – eliminating dairy or animal flesh – with nuts, seeds, and non-GMO grains. This is a Vegan diet. This does not mean simply eliminating the burger patty from your hamburger, leaving the iceberg lettuce, tomato, pickle, mayo and bun – yuck! That is not nutrition, nor is it good eating. It means creating delicious and desirable food that leaves you feeling full, satisfied and un-polluted. Chef Alexandre specializes in Raw Vegan Cuisine. His creations are amazing!

We were introduced to the raw vegan food cuisine after my husband had DSC_0004quintuple by-pass surgery. Natural deodorant that WORKS!

I’ve been moving more and more toward natural solutions to everyday procedures… So, let’s address a stinky subject… you know that offensive smell of body odor!

I would not have tried this if…

I wouldn’t have tried this if I didn’t have little 8 year old twin grandsons who are beginning to need this. I seriously couldn’t use enough soap and water to wash away their smell! LOL! And I wasn’t about to apply the chemically laden store alternatives to their young, still delicate skin… so I did some research.

I used Lime essential oil which makes the recipe actually smell similar to a cake mix, though it’s not as fragrant as the perfumed deodorants from the store. I’ve read where people use other citrus essential oils or lavender.  Choose your favorite oil. I think I will try cinnamon next or a combination of other earthy fragrances – YUM! Simply combine the dry ingredients and add in the oils. Stir it well with a fork. Then after a shower, using your clean finger, pick up a small amount and rub it on. Too easy!

Sweet Success!!!

My little grandsons no longer smell like sweaty men who have been working in the yard on a hot summer’s day! YEAH! And even better, my husband loves it! No more chemicals on our delicate armpits! This is so much more of a blessing than no longer placing those chemical laden store products on our skin, because now we no longer have to worry about those unsightly yellow deodorant stains on white undershirts and white dress shirts! YEAH!!! And for just a few cents on the dollar, too!

Some Variations…

Some sites said to only use 2 Tablespoons coconut oil. I will be trying this next. Others suggest you put it in an old stick deodorant container, however, coconut oil liquefies when the weather warms up, so I preferred to put it in this lovely covered sugar bowl. It’s lovely on my counter.

Don’t be confused…

Please do not confuse energy healing with religious spirituality. This is something that happens because religious spirituality is intangible and energy healing is intangible.
