Money doesn’t grow on trees…

What are your core beliefs? Where did they come from?

Limiting or false beliefs are the crux of life. Things your parents told you may have been limiting or false beliefs. Things you hear in the media may never be true no matter how many times it’s repeated. Society perpetuates the false statements by repeating them.

Some things are funny, like, “If you sneeze with your eyes open, your eyes will fall out”

Some are scary – “If you cross your eyes like that, they will stick that way”

Some are useless… “Carrots will help you see in the dark” This false belief stems from WWII when the British fighter pilots used this claim rather than reveal the main source of their success – a fully functioning radar system. While it’s true the beta-carotene found in carrots contributes to creating vitamin A, and that helps with eyesight, you would need a lot more than carrots to help you see in the dark!

We have selective hearing, watch your words!

But some are damaging… I was told all my childhood, “You can’t do that.” Thank goodness I was a determined child who made it my mission to prove I could do what ever they thought I couldn’t do. Or how about, “You’ll never amount to much if you don’t do better in school.” Most people only really hear “You’ll never amount to much…”

Good news! We don’t have to struggle in false reality!

These are the types of things that we latch onto and hold in our energy system. Our choices in life become governed by these limiting or false beliefs, consciously or subconsciously. We also pass down those beliefs in our DNA. In an energy session, those limiting or false beliefs are released and cleared so you are free to create the success in your life that you dream for. 1. Limiting beliefs are stories you tell yourself. They are negative stories that really aren’t true. They are not facts. However, these false stories prevent you from moving forward towards the success, love and happiness you desire and deserve.

  2. I think it is important to always speak words that are going to lift someone up instead of tearing them down. I know that we all have heard some of the sayings that Loretta discusses in this post. In fact, I remember quite a few of them myself. My favorite is “money doesn’t grow on trees.” Sometimes I wish it did but after all it won’t solve basic problems.

  3. Words and messages we hear from people we respect and that we eventually tell ourselves are very powerful indeed. It’s good to re-think messages that are not benefiting us. Thank you for reminding us about this, Loretta!

  4. Words to live by! We’re listening to The Teachings of Abraham and they go into a lot of depth about how our thoughts (both what we do and don’t want) really do manifest. My watcher is on careful watch now!

  5. My parents unintentionally created beliefs that I had to change and I’m more aware of the language I use with my kids.

This is a great article to make people aware that they can change their beliefs

  6. I just love your posts and look forward to them. they remind me daily to take care of myself. false beliefs can be very harmful to our well being

  7. I’ve spent the last 4 years eliminating my false beliefs and replacing them with new, positive, congruent core beliefs and my life has never been better!

My only regret is not learning this until I was pushing 40. Now, my wife and I intentionally speak to our kids and teach them these things so that they’ll be light-years ahead of where she and I were at their age.

  8. Love this and so true. I was a very sensitive kid with a military father, thank goodness I was able to tune him out, but I always heard the words that were screamed at my brothers and it would break my heart. I try very hard to watch my words and tone. I’m not perfect but then who is.

  9. This is a great message! I made it my mission to succeed in life because i was told school was everything, and i hated school! Now i look back and say yup i succeeded in life on my own! Thank you for this!

  10. What… you have curly hair? Where? HaHa (inside joke for the rest of you!)

It may not always be your parents who extend limiting beliefs. We do it too ourselves. I hear all the time “I Can’t draw”, “I Can’t Sing”, I can’t….
“Can’t” is such a limiting word. Listen to yourself and whenever you hear yourself say you “Can’t” do something, turn it around and just go for it, because you can!!

  11. I have found it amazing how holding on to even just one belief negative or positive can have such an impact of your life. Then negative beliefs seem to impact me more in my life than the positive. I love taking back my own power over the negative belief and changing it to something positive!

  12. Wow, thanks for spreading this message…so true! One silly thing our grandmother used to tell us was: “eating the crust on your bread will give you curly hair”. So needless to say my sister never at the crust! There are so many more serious fallacies though that are being passed on. Thanks for bringing awareness to this issue!

    • Thank you for your comment, Jen! I tried not eating the crust! Still ended up with the curly hair 🙂 Those are fun, silly things to say that have been handed down from generation to generation, but the false sayings that create limiting beliefs are the things to be wary of. It’s so wonderful that we have the tool of SimplyHealedTM to clear out all that energetic clutter so we can create a wonderful life for ourselves!
