The Miracle of Friendship

I received this poem from a dear friend today. It lifted my spirit and brought gratitude to my heart.

Miracle of Friendship

I realize more and more how connected we are as beings on this earth. We respond to kindness and charitable acts and lift the burdens of others with our care and concern. Friendship is true and lasting. I cherish the friends I have today. They are so much a part of my life! Many of my friends I have not seen in years. Some of my dearest friends I haven’t even met in person, but because of the miracles of technology, I have been able to develop a close relationship with them. Our friends enrich our lives.

My friends… I just wanted to express my gratitude for you today and share a little beauty, love and joy with you!

Do You Suffer From Terminal Uniqueness?

What? What’s that???

poutingOK… I have an adorable client who penned that title for herself. Basically it’s when you have convinced yourself that the difficulties of life that you have experienced have never happened to anyone else, only you, and you cannot go on because you are so oppressed with all these difficulties. After all, no one can relate to you or suggest ways to overcome these difficulties. Your difficulties are unique from everyone else’s. Therefore you are terminally unique! We laughed when she came up with this! And I swore I would not forget it! So here you have it… my blog post about it!

We are both unique and the same!

While it’s true that we are unique in so many ways, we are also the same in a vast number of ways. We in fact move through the same emotions and feelings in very similar ways. At times however, when our minds are dealing with other issues, such as ADHD or Aspergers, what we perceive as normal thought patterns may be interrupted. My focus in this post are the typical thought patterns and how our thoughts create our emotions which lead to our creation of our very existence.

Sometimes emotions we have cause us to take a particular stance… Our emotions can affect every thing we do and how others respond to us. I had a conversation with my grandson this morning, he lost his new jacket he received for school this year. It was an awesome jacket that zipped up all the way to the top of the hood and had a nifty netting fashioned like eyes and a mouth so when the jacket was zipped up, it looked like a mask. It was nice and warm and large enough for him to enjoy for a couple of years. No matter how I’ve tried to impress upon his mind the importance of being responsible for belongings, it has backfired into a variety of emotions for him. Today I tried to change his thought pattern by reminding him that “Good things ALWAYS happen to us!” You see, it’s so important to remember to find gratitude and positive thoughts in all things. It’s vitally important!!! We were reading in the Book of Mormon today, and it was being mentioned how the people had lost the land of their inheritance, but rather than mourning and lamenting about it, their prophet encouraged them instead to look forward and realize that God had blessed them with something even better! A better land of inheritance in their case. From those words, we take the understanding that things that come to us may not look the way we think they should look, but if we truly look at them, they are better for some reason. When we accept things for the gift they are – be it for learning, growth, inspiration, pleasure, blessing – our energetic attitude creates a wonderful existence for us. Sometimes we may want to sing, but we don’t know how, so we may need to pass through some challenges to get to that place. The challenges teach us how to get to the place where  we can in fact sing…

Good Things Always Happen to Us!

My mentor, Carolyn Cooper, used the phrase, “Good things always happen to us!” in teaching her young ones to look for the good in all situations and be grateful. What a blessing we can give to our families and especially our children if we can instill in them this positive mental attitude. If we do this, there is no room in our mind for believing we are unique in our difficulties or trials and we can become healed of being ‘terminally unique’!

Why I do what I do…

DSC_0004I haven’t always been a positive thinking person. I wish I could say I was raised with wonderful guidance in these things, but I have only known of Energy Healing for the past several years. I had cemented 50 years of negative thinking before I realized the difference it makes to embrace being positive! It’s just not worth wasting life being negative when being positive makes such a difference!

Chakra Evaluation

When is it time for a session?

chakrasI’m often asked by clients, “When should I have another session?” This is a personal choice. Here are some thoughts on just one of the energy systems, the Chakras… If you answer ‘yes’ to any of these questions, and cannot manage to switch that answer to a ‘no’, it is a strong indication that it may be time for a session…

  • I tend to render my power to others and put myself second.
  • I’m apprehensive around powerful people. I’ve experienced people misusing their power, I don’t want to be like them!
  • I feel more guilty than blessed.
  • I don’t ever want anyone to see me express my true emotions.
  • It’s difficult for me to be alone. I feel so lonely!
  • The economy is scary! What money I have, I save for fear of losing it!
  • It’s difficult for me to forgive those who have wronged me.
  • I have difficulty looking at myself in the mirror unless I have to brush my hair or floss my teeth.
  • I cannot express my true feelings, my thoughts are not as important as other’s thoughts.
  • It’s difficult to express my ideas clearly… people don’t really hear me anyway.
  • My life is set in place, I see no change ever occurring for the better.
  • I feel lost and alone.
  • I prefer to be single, relationships are too complicated.
  • I feel stuck, as if I’m repeating the same pattern over and over again.
  • People just don’t like or appreciate me, I feel uncomfortable at parties.
  • People judge me if they see my true authentic self.

Correcting these false assumptions is easily accomplished with energy sessions. It’s amazing what can be accomplished in just one 50 minute session.

Here’s what satisfied clients have said:

“It’s amazing to me that I no longer feel nervous in a group of people! I had struggled with that all my life!”

“I had that residual pain for months, and it’s just gone! What did you do??!!”

“My friends and neighbors have been asking if I colored my hair or got a hair cut. They notice something different about me but can’t put their finger on it… then I tell them how great I feel since having a session with you!”

You too, can have these wonderful results!

Happy Anniversary Sweetheart!

A Very Special Day!

Today my husband and I celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary! So I posted on Facebook today:  “Happy anniversary, Sweetheart. You are my very best friend. You give me strength and light. Thank you for your love, devotion, and support in all the things I choose to do. I love you with all my heart!” But that doesn’t really say much in my opinion. So I thought I would share today all the ways my dear husband enriches my life…

Hobbies, hobbies, HOBBIES!

I used to dread it when he would find he was interested in another hobby. But later I came to realize that his “hobbies” were how he was creating his life. For example, Photography. He has moved in and out of this hobby many times… I think I love this hobby more than any of the other hobbies! We have wonderful pictures of our family and I love using his creative eye in marketing materials! Recently he has taken some classes from experts that have sharpened his skill and have fascinated even me, a non-photographer!

There was a time when he put photography on hold because he felt when ever we went on vacation, he saw the entire vacation through the lens of a camera instead of in person! Truth be told, I could sympathize with him on that, but he has taken so many wonderful pictures that we cherish that I am grateful that he did view so many vacations through the lens of a camera!

Other of his hobbies have included Kung Fu San Soo, remote controlled airplanes, duel line kites, Lindyhop swing dancing, guitar, ukulele and more. I’m grateful I finally realized that his hobbies have blessed my life!

Our life has been blessed with the association of Grand Master Ted Sias, who is currently teaching Kung Fu San Soo to the 3rd generation in our family! We have enjoyed cultivating so many friendships through dancing and ukulele, too.

Our life together has truly been a rich experience because of Geoff’s desire to do so many things! I’m pretty content with moving on day to day. But had it not been for Geoff’s desires, I would have never seen, done and enjoyed so much! Thank you dear Sweetheart for many wonderful memories!

Deep Gratitude…

But most of all my life has been blessed with this kind, gentle man who loves me unconditionally and is a constant inspiration to me to be a better person. I love you, Sweetheart!

Swing Dancing at Downtown Disney!

Dance like nobody’s watching!

Those of you that know me may know my husband and I love to swing dance Lindyhop style. We have been dancing for many years, and have loved all the different venues that have dancing available for all ages. Disneyland has had dancing available in the park since before I can remember. Walt Disney loved dancing. We used to buy premium passes so we could dance to the big band swing bands in the Carnation Plaza.

We even enjoyed dancing with many of Walt’s friends who survived him, though there are very few left. And though Rose & Dubbie are no longer with us, their memory will live on forever in our hearts and pictures!

and then the change…

Then the decision was made to turn the Carnation Plaza into a meet and greet place for the princesses. They closed down the dance area, and from what we understood, they wanted to give the dancers a place to dance, so they began having the bands in front of the ESPN store.

At first the dance floor was empty...

At first the dance floor was empty…

and then the dance floor became crowded!

and then the dance floor became crowded!

It was a great place to go and dance, though the dance floor began shrinking as more and more people realized how wonderful it was to dance there.

And the dance floor became more crowded. I heard rumors that the shops were upset that the dancers were in the way, and not spending enough money. I’m sure that happened, too, as dancing is much more fun than eating or shopping and more and more people began to agree with me!

and more change…

And then the inevitable happened… they reopened the princess area to dancing and cancelled dancing at Downtown Disney. The reason we are sad about this is because we no longer desire to purchase the premium pass – have you seen the price tag? We just cannot justify that price for dancing on some Saturday nights. There are many places to dance, and since we don’t go out dancing as often due to work schedules, it just doesn’t make sense to invest that much money.

However, we have missed our friends who dance there. It was a great place to dance where dancing started at 6:30 instead of 9:00 like most places.

Then I heard a rumor that if I blogged about it that Disney is considering re-opening Downtown Disney Swing… could it be true? I was told that Disney listens to blogs! So all we had to do was blog about them re-opening. If Disney is in fact reading this blog post, let me first thank you for the 18 or so months of great dancing at Downtown Disney! And allow me to be a voice of encouragement to include dancing again at Downtown Disney!

Love dancing with Phil!!!

Love dancing with Phil!!!

I’m here today to add my blog post to many others who are hoping Disney will make the decision to resume dancing in the Downtown area.

A little encouragement to dance…

Love the balboa!

Love the balboa!

When you dance with a partner where respectful touch is involved, like a lead and follow dance, it can feel like a hug. We all understand that hugging releases endorphins and can create a euphoric feeling. As an energy practitioner we also refer to this as raising our vibrational frequency. It’s really hard to be depressed, worried or suffer from the negative emotions when you’re dancing. It’s wonderfully therapeutic! Check out dancing and see what you think!

Just a little plug for the blogging challenge this blog post is included in… I’ve taken the challenge to blog every day for 31 days!!! This is a great group of people!! Love this challenge!
